Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Was that an official thing back when we were kids? I don't remember anything so official, but then again, I wasn't the one orchestrating the crafts and gifts and sweet treats. I'll have to ask my mom, and send her a long-overdue thank-you. I'm sure even if Teacher Appreciation Week wasn't an official thing, she was still doing stuff to make sure my wonderful teachers knew they were valued.
Anyway, I just wanted to show the cookies my friend Heather and I made for the wonderful teachers at Desert Sun Child Development Center [1], the utterly remarkable preschool where both of my girls have gone. It's our last year there (sniff). That's almost sad enough to make me think about having a third kid. Almost.
I've already written up a tutorial for making these easy-yet-adorable apple cookies [2]. Beginning of the year, end of the year, they're always perfect for a quick, easy, cute, tasty, teacher gift.
You know what I'm most excited about? Using up that old easter grass in the package of cookies. Cute teacher gift and I get to use up something just hanging out in my garage? Score!
