My family has made thousands (Really! Thousands!) of gingerbread houses over the years, and every year we throw a fabulously fun gingerbread house decorating party for our friends. We always have a remarkable array of candies for the decorating, and somehow as much candy and icing seems to be eaten as make its way on to the houses. So there's really no need for a dessert table at one of these events.
Instead, I conceived of an anti-dessert table. When the guests overloaded on pilfered sugar, they could head to the anti-dessert table for a salty antidote. In 2010, I went with a Swedish theme for the décor. For the complete story, read the posts about this party on our blog.
