Cupcake Time: Paleontology Cupcakes for a Dinosaur Birthday

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

My kids choose great friends.  Smart.  Interesting.  Sweet.  And so it wasn't a surprise, but it was a delight when we learned that Ainsley's little friend, who loves dinosaurs, had decided to have a paleontology party at the Arizona Museum of Natural History.  Right up this English and Anthro major's alley!  So of course I asked if I could make cupcakes.

Super simple gumpaste bones nestled in brown sugar dirt, with a few gumpaste brushes to help our junior paleontologists excavate the cake.

My favorites were the Triceratops skulls.  I love getting to make cakes or cupcakes on a regular basis for my friends, and I'm awfully lucky that they come up with such great themes for me to play with!
