How to Make Paper Flower Topiaries

When I was done with the paper flower background for the Secret Garden shower, I still had paper left over. Not content to let a single scrap of paper go to waste, I decided to make more paper flower party decor to sprinkle through the rest of the party, and came up with the idea of paper topiaries.

To make a paper flower topiary, first, you need to make a bunch of flowers.

Like this.

And this.

And this.

Except smaller, this time. Unless you're making a really giant topiary. Wait a minute. That could be a GORGEOUS version of a Christmas tree! Lit from the inside. Great, now I want to make it, and where am I going to put that in my house?


You need some sort of base on which to glue all the flowers you've made. You could use a foam cone from the craft store, of course, but I just made a paper cone using the same technique I used for the center of the roses.

Once you have your cone made, simply start hot-gluing the flowers on the cones.

I placed my topiary cones in some milk glass compotes I had sitting around, but they looked great just sitting on the table, too.

If I had a mantle, I'd have these guys all over it this holiday season.
