These easy pom pom spiders are the perfect easy (and not too spooky) Halloween craft.  These fuzzy spider decorations are easy enough for kids to make.

Easy pom pom spiders for Halloween

Are you excited for Halloween?  I am!  Weather here in Phoenix is absolutely glorious in October (our reward for suffering through the summer), and my girls are the perfect age to really love Halloween.

Niamh had a a few little friends over for a play date last week, and I pulled out some craft supplies, and we made these cute little spiders.  They're inexpensive, simple, and not too scary with those googly eyes.  The kids had a ball.

Materials for Making Pom Pom Spiders:

Start by cutting the pipe cleaners in half.  Take four lengths of pipe cleaners and twist them together in the center (to make the eight spider legs).  Bend the spider legs down toward the ground.

Glue one pom pom to the center of the spider legs, where the pipe cleaners are twisted together.  Add a second pom pom for the head.

Actually, you don't have to add a second pom pom if you don't want to.  With just one pom pom, they look like the cute little spider things from Spirited Away.

Glue on the eyes, and you're done!

I love how flexible and poseable these little spiders are.

In fact, I really want to make a stop motion animation film with them.  That would be so much fun!

I have lots of plans for using these fuzzy little guys in our Halloween decor this year. How would you use them to decorate for Halloween?
