I think these Mickey Mouse silhouette Oreo cookies are the epitome of semi-homemade. Actually, that gives them too much credit. Quarter-homemade, maybe? In any case, they are insanely easy to make, utterly adorable, and always a huge hit with kids and adults alike.
You only need three things to make these adorable little Disney confections: Doublestuff Oreos, mini Oreos, and your hands.
I messed around with royal icing, and more complicated techniques, but this looked the best AND was the easiest. Who am I to complicate things unnecessarily?
Just pull apart the mini Oreos into two halves.
Take each mini Oreo half, and shove them right into the icing of the Doublestuff Oreo. Doublestuff Oreos are important; they have enough icing to hold the mini Oreo ear, and not crack the cookie every single time. Just trust me and get the Doublestuff version. Unless you want to eat a lot of cracked Oreos. Which is not a bad thing.
Mickey Mouse Oreo cookie awesomeness! With pretty much no effort. Except the effort not to eat my supplies as I was working.
