A bouquet of royal icing flowers decorates these mother's day spring floral sugar cookies. Here are ideas for three different styles of gorgeous spring floral cookies that mom will love.
I made these rustic floral cookie designs for my daughter's Mother's Day school fundraiser. I made and donated 360 decorated cookies for the school, so I wanted designs that were impressive, but would come together relatively quickly.
We're sharing mother's day brunch ideas for this month's Taste Creations Blog Hop today, and I thought I'd share these decorated sugar cookies as the perfect sweet treat to serve to mom on her special day. All were baked with my favorite sugar cookie recipe, and decorated with royal icing.
These two-toned flower cookies look impressive, but are deceptively simple to make.
I experimented with two different quick and easy techniques for making a rustic wood effect on the round cookies.
The stencil technique gave a gorgeous wood-grain effect, and the simple wood panelling background for the royal icing flower bouquets was incredibly fast and easy. I'll have tutorials for both coming soon.
It's hard to capture the wood-grain stencil pattern in a photo since I used white-on-white icing, but it was absolutely gorgeous in real life!
I also made some cookie sticks--absolutely perfect for moms who like to dunk their cookies in tea or coffee!
