Friday the 13th Horror Movie Cupcakes

There's a special young man who is turning 13 today. On Friday the 13th. So I conspired with his mother to surprise him at his horror movie themed birthday party with some horror movie cupcakes.

Cupcakes inspired by classic horror movies, in a collage optimized for pinterest.

I love it when friends just let me do whatever I want! I ended up making four dozen cupcakes, in four different horror movie inspired designs for the party.

These Creature From the Deep cupcakes are so easy to make! And they have a surprise hidden inside: a chocolate filled with gushy, luscious dark chocolate ganache. Ewwwww (and yum)!

Vanilla cupcakes with an edible gum paste Jason mask from the Friday the 13th movies.

I had to make some Jason masks for a Friday the 13th birthday party. Obviously.

Side note: my fingers are still really red from splattering the red food coloring blood all over the cupcakes. It was totally worth it.
